Anonymous asked: If Crows got the chance to do a similar thing to what Trash Talk were doing, as mentioned in the comment below me, do you think you'd go for it? Do you feel like it takes away from D.I.Y ethics at all, since a lot of the shows might be ran by the likes of MCD or a similar promoter in a different country, even though these bands still release a lot of their own records and stuff?
Obviously we would. More money = more #. But at the end of the day, it’s hardly as if the bands know that the promoter is someone involved with DIY or not, seeing as most of their touring dates would be sorted through a booking agent, who doesn’t really give a fuck about anything other than getting the slots filled and getting their 10% cut. I’ve toured in the UK a good bit, and I’ve also toured the east coast of the Shates with my other band (who I’m not really at liberty to discuss), and for the most part we’ve booked every gig ourselves. And it’s so much work, even for like a 2 week tour. I’d gladly outsource that task to a booking agent with connections for 15% of our guarantee or whatever and just have to worry about showing up. I don’t begrudge any other band for doing so, especially when they’re on the road for months on end.
